The cold wind of winter brushed past my frozen red cheeks, brushed past the reeds dancing softly with the wind, and by the frozen river that leads into the sky. We are all like the wind, reaching towards our future through paths that go on forever. We’ll take risks to reach our goal, across the frozen river and into the unknown. Our intentions will lead us to wherever the paths might go. The paths will lead us to our future, to the world beyond. We’ll see success and hope on our way, like the glittering sunlight shining across the frozen water. But there will also be failures, like stepping in the holes or slipping on ice. Our life is filled with joy, happiness, misery, and despair. Don’t let the bright sunlight blind you, the reeks bind you. You will have to keep going, keep trying, and let nothing stop you.
I have let things go past my reach; I gave up on many things that could’ve been better. But looking back, I realized how things could’ve changed if I believed in myself. Even though there is only a tiny glimmer of light on the frozen water. There might be hundreds—or even thousands of quests in your life that you need to overcome. I would’ve walked across the ice if I could go back. But if you give up, you’ll realize how many things you missed out on—just like me.
